The area is home to a Mediterranean climate, which means it is hot in the summer, and a persistent ground fog in late fall and winter known as "tule fog."You can enjoy the multiple recreation areas in the Central Valley quite easily. Along with vineyards, orchards, and farms, the local foothills and mountains provide beautiful and relaxing scenery and vistas. History lovers will appreciate the Heidrick Ag History Center, the Yolo County Historical Museum, Historic Downtown Winters, and the San Joaquin County Historical Society and Museum. The Kings River has a beautiful canyon that is popular with whitewater enthusiasts, and the Sacramento Rivertrain allows train lovers wonderful vistas of the agricultural landscape. Bicyclists and Hikers will find opportunities in abundance!
