Dallas, Texas: Recently, Brook Furniture Rental’s Dallas showroom was transformed into a hands-on staging classroom.
Students from The Academy of Home Staging browsed various furnished display rooms, taking notes on everything from the artwork to dining room sets. The students were on location to learn the art and business of staging, using rental furniture to transform homes for the real estate market.
Brook Furniture Rental has been a committed collaborator with private interior design firms for years, and home staging schools are a relatively new development in the constantly changing industry. For Michelle Lynne, one of the Academy’s Dallas instructors, partnering with Brook Furniture Rental was an obvious choice. “The quality of Brook’s product has always been incredibly consistent," she explains. “We recommend Brook to all our students.”
In addition to learning about the wide range of designer furniture available at Brook Furniture Rental, the class received a lesson in Brook’s stager-friendly website from Dallas Account Executive Diana Leach. Later that day, the students used the website to select furniture for a vacant home as part of their intensive one-week course.
Brook has witnessed the continued growth of furniture rental in the Dallas region, and staging is a big part of that. Houses staged with furniture sell 78% faster than un-staged homes, according to a 2011 survey from the Real Estate Staging Association.
For The Academy of Home Staging instructor Michelle Lynne, who also runs her own interior design firm, it’s about more than just the numbers. “Houses have had offers within the first week of staging,” says Ms. Lynne. “I just love getting those calls.”
