Brook Furniture Rental, Inc. announced today its decision to exit the Las Vegas market with the sale of its Las Vegas open leases.
"We entered the Las Vegas market in 1990 as part of a larger California furniture rental acquisition," said Robert W. Crawford, Brook Furniture Rental CEO. "We have enjoyed the opportunity over the last 19 years to serve many types of customers in Las Vegas. Our growth plans, however, call for our focus to be in markets of a different type, primarily larger, major metropolitan 'headquarters cities,' such as our home base of Chicago, and cities where we currently have a presence such as Dallas, Atlanta, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Washington, D.C. We are very excited about the future of these markets, and we plan for growth into other 'headquarters cities' in the future."
Brook Furniture Rental is the largest privately held company and the second largest company in the U.S. furniture rental industry. Over the last 2 years, the company has been making many changes to its business. The company has expanded distribution coverage in four states, made upgrades to showroom and distribution facilities, and invested in new internal infrastructure.
The company, Crawford said, had revenues in 2008 of more than $60 million. With showrooms and distribution centers in large markets across the United States, Brook Furniture Rental provides furniture rental services to people and companies in transition. By developing a reputation for high quality furniture, impeccable service, and reliability, the company has been able to help its customers simplify change in their lives.
