South Fulton County is a region of suburbs that are all very close to Atlanta. Some of the county’s notable cities include Peachtree City, Fairburn, and College Park.
Peachtree City was ranked as one of CNN’s Money Magazine as one of the 100 best towns to live in the United States. It is a place where residents are just as likely to get around in a car as they are in a golf cart, on one of the special golf cart paths that criss cross the city, offering a unique transportation alternative. The paths are also a popular infrastructure for bikers and runners. The city is split up into five villages, each with its own shopping area and facilities. Living in Peachtree City also means having access to Lake Peachtree and Lake Kedron’s fishing and boating, as well as the Kedron Recreation and Aquatic Center. Annual Peachtree City events include the Great Georgia Air Show at nearby Falcon Field.
Fairburn is a city with a charming historic downtown area. Fairburn is best known around the South Fulton County area for its annual Festival of Arts, Antiques, and Music, as well as the Georgia Renaissance Festival.
College Park is a city that is a great place to live, despite being in the shadow of the Hartsfield-Jackson Airport. It’s also the home of the Georgia International Convention Center, and is connected to Atlanta by the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) and the CSX Railroad. The town has an eclectic dining scene, with favorite eateries including Bole Ethiopian Restaurant, The Feed Store, and the Caribbean restaurant Tobagos.
