Cobb County is an upscale suburban area outside of Atlanta that is a great place to live, and is rated the most-educated county in the state of Georgia. Cobb County offers easy access to Atlanta and to the outdoors. Natural destinations and historic battlefields abound, like Vinings Mountain and Keenesaw Mountain.
Marietta is the county seat of Cobb County, and one of Atlanta’s most popular commuter towns. There are boutiques and a farmer’s market in Marietta Square, plenty of historic architecture, and the Six Flags White Water amusement park. It is a city with love of history. Check out the Civil War exhibit at the Marietta History Museum, tour the Brumby Hall & Gardens, and see the the slightly more funky Scarlett on the Square, the city’s museum dedicated to Gone with the Wind.
Some of Cobb County’s other cities include Kennesaw and Cumberland.
Kennesaw has been ranked as one of the best towns to raise a family in the United States, thanks to its good schools, proximity to Atlanta, and safe neighborhoods. It’s home to the annual Big Shanty Festival and the Great Greased Pig Chase, drawing visitors from across the state.
Cumberland is where Home Depot has its headquarters. Attractions include the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center, which hosts concerts, events, and the Atlanta Opera. The Cumberland Mall offers a variety of dining and shopping opportunities.
