Stone Mountain is a suburb on the east side of the metro Atlanta area. It is renowned for its namesake mountain, whose lower slopes are covered with many rare flower and trees species. On a clear day, the Atlanta skyline and even the Appalachian mountain range are visible from Stone Mountain’s peek. Carved into the mountain’s side is the largest bas relief sculpture in the world. Surrounding the mountain is a theme park, which draws visitors from across the Southeast. The park features challenging adventure courses, scenic railroad lines, fishing and hiking opportunities, multiple golf courses, a laser light show and multiple picnic areas.
Conyers, also a suburb on the east side of the Atlanta area, features a challenging golf course, as well as annual events like the Conyers Cherry Blossom festival and the Taste of Conyers festival. Horse lovers of all ages flock to the Georgia International Horse Park and nature lovers will marvel at the Panola State Park, 100-acres of rare watershed and granite outcrops. The park enjoys a protected status due to its unique vegetation and geological formations.
Redan is another charming town within commuting distance of Atlanta. Notable attractions include the Hidden Hills Country Club and the Hidden Hills Shopping Center.
